We have a range of rooms available to hire for charitable, community and commercial purposes. These provide a central meeting point, and are widely used by the Leicester city centre community.
Our newest facility, available from late March 2010, the WAKERLEY ROOM has until recently been used as the Just fairtrade shop. It is part of Pilgrim House, the building next door to the church. The Wakerley Room is a spacious meeting room, suitable for sitting around a central table, or a speaker-style meeting of up to 40 people. It is available for one-off meetings, or regular events. Sole use of a kitchenette with facilities for hot drinks is included. There is level access throughout, including a disabled toilet.
We are pleased to be also featuring a number of works of Art by local contemporary artists. The paintings are for sale, and if you are interested in seeing the pictures, or finding out more about them, please contact the church office.
Community Rooms within the Church building:
Within the church building itself, we have a variety of different rooms:-
Church Foyer: With sliding glass doors and views out onto Bishop Street and Town Hall Square, this is the most visible room, but has steps up to the door. (We are working towards ramped access. There is restricted wheelchair access via the side door). the Foyer seats 50 for a speaker style meeting, or cafe style tables and chairs to seat 30. There is a servery with facilities to make hot drinks.
The Church: Access via the Foyer or side door. This has a central bank of fixed pews, seating up to 80 people. Side under-galleries are available, either for additional seating, or as display/stall space. Used as a whole or in part it is ideal for exhibitions, sales, charity fairs, concerts and large gatherings. There is further seating in the gallery, although with limited views to floor level. (It is designed to see the pulpit rostrum). Total seating including the church and gallery is around 400.
Barratt Room: The largest of the rooms at the back of the church, this is accessed via the side entrance. It can seat 50 for speaker- style meetings, or there are options for sitting around tables, etc. The nearby kitchenette is available for making hot drinks, and the new disabled toilet is close by. With a large south-facing rooflight, and new gas heating, this is a warm, well lit room, and is extensively used for regular bookings.
Brandon Room and Lewis Room: These are upstairs rooms, accessed via the side entrance and rear staircase. Both rooms can seat around 30 people, or fewer sitting around tables. We also have individual exam-style tables to provide a classroom/exam setting.
Little Vestry: This is a small ground-floor room with padded chairs, suitable for small informal meetings. It seats a maximum of 10. It is close to the kitchenette and disable toilet.
Basement: This is currently undergoing redecoration, so is not available for let. We hope to provide a useable space in the near future.
