HERITAGE OPEN DAY AND BIKE AND STRIDE DAY
Saturday September 12th.
The Church will be open from 10.00am to 4.00pm
There will be information and displays about the Church and its history, as well as an exhibition on the work of Leicester civic Society.
Light refreshments will be on sale throughout the day.
Methodist Heritage Exhibition
Saturday October 24th 2009, 11.00am to 3.00pm
At Bishop Street Methodist Church, Town Hall Square, Leicester.
Commemorations: Sunday School prizes, certificates, trophies and anniversaries.
Chapels: Where Methodists worshipped in Leicester - in at least 56 different chapels during the last 200 years.
Combatants: The Great War, 1914-18. The lives, active service and deaths of the men named on our Great War memorial.
Cakes: Recreating the scene of a Chapel Tea fifty years ago.

Faith in Action Workshop - Leicester:
Enabling your church to be more effective in the community
Date: Wednesday 21st October 2009 Time: 9:45am-4pm (we start promptly at 10am) Venue: Bishop Street Methodist Church, 10a Bishop Street, Town Hall Sq., Leicester, LE1 6AF Cost: £10/person to be paid on the day (including lunch)
The workshop will be an interactive day giving you some practical advice and tips to help your church have even more impact in the local community. There will be a choice of sessions from Church Urban Fund, Livability, and local projects, so you can tailor your day to fit you best:
- Managing staff and volunteers
- Funding advice
- Keeping your Christian distinctiveness
- Effective youth work in the community
- Preparing your church for getting more involved in the community
