CHRISTMAS CARD EXCHANGE DONATIONS.
As part of the exchange of Christmas Cards amongst Church members and friends we invited donations towards a bicycle for Africa. The target we were set was £66 and we are delighted that this was more than reached. Not only can we send money to buy a bicycle for a school student in Africa through the Methodist charity ALL WE CAN, but raised a total of £80 so the extra £14 will be used to buy two sets of bike lights for use locally. 'After 18', the charity based in our building who help asylum seekers, received some of the pre-Christmas gifts from us, and mentioned that in the dark evenings there was a pressing need need for bike lights. So we will be giving the bike-lights to them, and the money raised is being put to good use both home and abroad.
